Those damn January blues! Christmas has come and gone and like many I’ll be scratching my head in January wondering where the last year went.
In an age old tradition I will set a load of New Year’s resolutions (many of which I won’t keep) in a bid to shift myself in to gear. Many may scoff and roll their eyes as they question why I bother putting myself under this pressure when failures such a real possibility. But let’s face it, the New Year is zero craic right up to Paddy’s day! So if I can distract myself till then or even till summer I will be doing well.
My resolution of choice will be trying to get healthy and to shed the weight I feel I gained over Christmas. The first hurdle will be getting over the fear of starting.
Gyms can be scary enough to a newbie, but for many they have to go through getting all their gym gear together before they even reach that step. I’m lucky that I worked on the shop floor in Cummins Sports for years and I’m familiar with the gym gear and know the features and benefits behind the products, but for many novices, getting their gear together can be quite overwhelming and confusing. There are so many brands and styles all with different technologies behind them, it can be difficult to know what the right choice for you is. You may feel like running back to the couch instead of running on a treadmill.
However, at Cummins Sports we are very aware of how difficult this can be and we do our best to make sure every customer feels at ease. We understand the importance of listening to our customers’ needs and we care about finding the right gym gear for them, rather than bogging them down with endless technical jargon. Our staff vary in age and background so you can always find someone in store to relate to, who will understand the position you’re in and be able to help you make the right choice.
For those who prefer to shop online, you can avail of our live chat option for any queries or questions you may have and we will be happy to help you make the right decision for you.
At the end of the day I, just like you, am trying to find some motivation to get through these boring first few months and get excited about 2019. So let’s help each other out and hopefully summer won’t be long coming.
